Chennai (Madras) – Mammallapuram (Mahabalipuram)- Mysore – Mudumalai – Ooty (Udagamandalam) – Coonor – Guruvayoor – Cochin (Kochi / Ernakulum) – Alappuzha (Alappey) – Kovalam- Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)

Day 1 Chennai

Arrive at Chennai airport and transfer to Mahabalipuram for overnight stay at hotel. The day is at leisure.

Day 2 Mahabalipuram

Today go for sightseeing of Mahabalipuram known for its unspoiled beach and Rock-cut art. We visit Arjuna’s penance, shore Temple, Five Rathas (chariots), Eight Mandapams, and Caves Known for their artistic extravaganza and beauty. Stay overnight at Mahabalipuram.

Day 3 Mysore

Drive to Chennai and from there takes an early morning train to Mysore. We reach Mysore and transfer to hotel for two nights stay. This city of places, flowers and sandalwood, Mysore was once the residence of the Maharajas of the south. In the afternoon we visit the Mysore palace, an extravagant building in the indo-Saracenic style, Chamundi Hill and Nandi Bull.

Day 4 Mysore

The morning sightseeing covers Srirangapattanam and Tipu Sultan’s summer palace. The remaining day is free to explore the colorful markets. Mysore offers many for shoppers, particularly in silk and sandalwood products.

Day 5 Mudumalai

Drive to Mudumalai. Mudumalai is a wild life Sanctuary, situated at an elevation of 900 meters and extending over an area of 321 sq km’s. Check in the hotel for two days stay there. After nightfall, we go for a jeep safari in the forest. Res of the day enjoy nature at leisure.

Day 6 Mudumalai

Engage in different forest activities in Mudumalai wild life sanctuary like small guided trekking, wild life watch, elephant safari etc.

Day 7 Ooty

Drive to Ooty in the morning. Reach Ooty and check in the hotel for the day’s stay. Afternoon visit Ooty town Ooty in one among the highest rated and the prettiest stations of the south.

Day 8 Coonor/Guruvayoor

Take the ‘Toy Train’ from Ooty Down hill to Coonor…a pleasant town surrounded by tea gardens. This toy train Journey downhill will surely be one of the unforgettable experiences of this tour. Afternoon drive to Guruvayoor and check in the hotel for the days stay… Remaining day free at leisure

Day 9 Kochi

Morning visit Guruvayoor Sri Krishna Swami Temple known as the Dwaraka of the South from outside, even if we are seeing the temple from outside, its sure that you can feel the complete divinity of the place. Visit Elephant camp. Here is the largest camp of trained temple elephants in the world with more than fifty elephants; St Thomas Church at Chavakkad. This church was established by the apostle St. Thomas and houses holy relics from the olden days. After we drive to the port city of Kochi. Check in to Old Harbour hotel for two day’s stay. In the evening we enjoy a sunset cruise on the backwaters to see the Chinese fishing nets.

Day 10 Kochi

The colonial influence of Kochi becomes evident when we visit the jewish Synagogue, built in 1567, housing the Grand Scrolls of the Old Testament and the Dutch place, with its 17th century murals of the Ramayana. We also visit St. Francis’ Church, where Vasco da Gama, the voyager who “rediscovered “India for Europe (Columbus having failed) was first buried. This evening we attend a Kathakali performance, a traditional dance of Kerala or Kalarippayatte, a traditional martial art of Kerala. Overnight stay at Old Harbour Hotel

Day 11: Alappuzha

A short drive to Alappuzha and late morning we board a rice boat (house Boat) for the night. The afternoon is spent cruising along the backwaters and observing village life along the banks. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, with modern en suite facilities.

Day 12

Proceed to Trivendrum for departure or to Kovalam for beach holidays.
