Kochi- Alappuzha – Houseboat – Vagamon – Kovalam

Day 1: Arrival Kochi

On arrival at Kochi airport, meet and transfer to Fort Cochin hotel for two nights stay. Evening enjoy sunset cruise to see the Chinese fishing nets. Visit fish market, this place is famous for fishes caught by the Chinese nets. If you like, you can select from the fresh catch of the time and taste it prepared in different styles. Overnight stay at Old Harbour Hotel

Day 2; Kochi

The colonial influence of Kochi becomes evident when we visit the Jewish Synagogue, built in 1567, housing the Grand Scrolls of the Old Testament and the Dutch place, with its 17-century murals of the Ramayana. We also visit St Francis’ church, where Vasco da Gama, the voyager who “rediscovered “India for Europe (Columbus having failed) was first buried. This evening was attended a Kathakali performance, a traditional dance of Kerala or Kalarippayatte, a traditional martial art of Kerala. Overnight stay at Old Harbour Hotel

Day 3 Kochi – Backwaters Our Land

After breakfast, drive to Alappey backwaters referred to as the Venice of the east by travelers from across the world check in at Our Land resort. A singular characteristic of Our Land is that it is in the region called Kuttanad. A land of lash paddy fields, Kuttanad is called the Rice Bowl of Kerala and is one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level. OURLAND RESORT is a very simple and beautiful Kerala style Resort situated in a corner part of a very small island surrounded by backwaters.

Day 4: Our Land – Houseboat

After breakfast, board a rice boat (Luxury House Boat) for the night from the steps of Ourland itself. The afternoon is spent cruising alone the backwaters and observing village life alone the banks. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, with modern en suite facilities.

Day 5: Houseboat – Vagamon

Disembark Houseboat at Alappey and Vagamon. It is an ideal tourist spot surrounded by the greenery of tea gardens, beautiful meadows, deep puzzling valleys and dales. Situated at an elevation of 1100 m above sea level Vagamon, a trekker’s paradise….Check in to a hotel for two days stay…

Day 6-7 Vagamon

Engage in different activities like Spice plantation visit, bathing in mountain streams, visit to near ashram (meditation center), bird and butterfly watching etc. if you are lucky enough you can be taken for elephant watching- (optional and seasonal)

Day 8: Vagamon

After breakfast transfer to Kottayam Railway station for train to Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram). On arrival, you will be transferred to the airport.
